city alphabet | buildings and letters
- type colouring book
Sarajevska Abeceda and Sarajevska Azbuka are two parts of Sarajevo alphabet colouring book, published by Grosvenor House; combining the two Bosnian latin and cyrillic alphabets with Sarajevo’s important buildings. Designed as a colouring book, alphabet and architectural guide, all in one, they are intended for older children and adults, for all those learning Bosnian language, and for everyone like myself, who love and miss Sarajevo, regardless of where they live now. London Alphabet, is the next colouring book I am working on in the City Alphabet Series: Buildings and Letters.
The proceeds from the sale of both Sarajevska Abeceda and Sarajevska Azbuka are used to plant trees in the canton of Sarajevo and across the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our first tree – Japanese cherry – was planted outside the parliament in Sarajevo on the 23rd of December 2019 with 29 more planted in 2020 and 2021 in different locations in Sarajevo, making it 30 (for 30 letters of the Abeceda) in total. Our aim is to continue planting many more trees.
